About Attic Insulation Pricing Index
Attic Insulation Pricing Index is an independent index of insulation costs and rebates for U.S. homeowners. We exist because the cost question — "how much does this actually run in my state?" — is consistently buried behind lead-generation forms, dealer estimates, and outdated articles. We publish prices and rebate amounts in plain English, with sources cited.
How we source data
We combine three inputs:
- Primary program data — utility rebate pages, state energy office pages, and federal program documentation. Whenever possible we link to the program's own page so you can verify amounts.
- Quoted-cost data — installer-published rate cards, permit fee schedules, and manufacturer pricing.
- Field reports — cost data we collect from our network of homeowners and contractors.
Refresh cadence
Cost data is refreshed quarterly. Rebate and incentive data is refreshed automatically on a scheduled job — programs change frequently, so we'd rather catch a closure or new launch the day it happens than wait for a quarterly review.
Who runs this
Attic Insulation Pricing Index is part of a small portfolio of home-improvement pricing sites. We are not a contractor, installer, manufacturer, utility, or government agency. We have no advertising relationships with any program or installer. If that ever changes, we'll disclose it here.
